DAY 12
Hebrews 8:12
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
THOUGHT
Have you ever been looking for your phone, and it ended up being in your hand the entire time? Or have you ever got up, gone to the kitchen, then forgotten why you were even going there? Lastly, have you ever had someone come to introduce themselves to you, then you forgot their name the second they walked away? Our brains are powerful and unique things. They are our heroes, yet they can betray us in the most inopportune times.
Does God ever forget? You wouldn't think so, but He does. Psalm 103:12 states, "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
East and West can never meet. This is a symbolic portrait of God's forgiveness–when He forgives our sin, He separates it from us and doesn't even remember it. God forgives and forgets. He has wiped your record clean. And here's the hard part: we must model this forgiveness–not just to others but to ourselves as well.
ACTION
1. Confess your sins. Ask God to show you your sins, then confess those specific sins.
2. Let Him forgive you. You must first believe He can forgive you.
3. Forgive yourself – this is a tough one. We remember everything we have done wrong, but after you ask God, you are forgiven.
PRAYER
Father, God, help me see the areas that I am sinning against You, and give me the courage to ask for forgiveness. I trust that You are faithful to forgive all my sins. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
