DAY 10
Galatians 1:10
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
THOUGHT
I think many times in our walk of life, we find ourselves attempting to measure up to someone else. The need to compare can feel almost automatic, whether it's in intelligence, ability, or possessions. When we compare ourselves to others, we either feel better or worse about ourselves, one which leads to pride and the other which feeds insecurity. Both of these make us vulnerable to attacks from the enemy.
When God created us, He took His time and fashioned us in His image. In doing so, He has also given us individual gifts and talents that all work into our purpose. When we compare ourselves to others and their giftings, it's almost the same as saying we are not content with what God has given us. When we align ourselves with Him and what He has planned for us, we will see fruit and find content in who God has created us to be.
ACTION
Take some time to find a way to extend gratitude to God, others, and sometimes yourself. We are called to love God and to love others, which can be hard to do if we do not love ourselves.
Remember you were made for a purpose and that the one who created the world and galaxies also created you. And He said it was good.
Keep the focus on the Creator and not the created. Humans aren't perfect; only He is, so when we need an example of who to be more like, He's the only perfect example.
PRAYER
God, thank You for who You are and who You created me to be. God, help me when I feel that I'm not enough. Thank You for constantly reminding me that I am. Help me to see past pride and insecurities and to keep my eyes on You. I pray that You reveal Your giftings to me and how I can serve You and love others. Thank you, Jesus. In Your name, I pray, amen.
