DAY 24

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid;
do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

THOUGHT

In Joshua 1:9, we find a powerful message from God to Joshua as he was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. This message is timeless and applies to us today as well. God's command is clear: "Be strong and courageous." He recognizes that fear and discouragement are common human emotions, but He instructs us not to be controlled by them. Instead, we are to be strong and courageous because of the confidence we have in God's presence and guidance in our lives. The verse emphasizes two key points: God's command and His promise.

The command is to be strong and courageous, indicating that these qualities are not optional but essential for our journey through life. It's a reminder that, with God, we have the inner strength to face any challenge. The promise is that the Lord our God will be with us wherever we go. This promise is a game-changer. It means that no matter where life takes us—whether it's into unfamiliar territory, difficult circumstances, or uncharted waters—God is there with us. His presence is our constant source of strength, comfort, and guidance.

ACTION

Memorize the verse Joshua 1:9.

Reflect on your fears: Take some time to identify the specific fears and discouragements you are facing in your life. Write them down, and then meditate on how God's promise to be with you relates to each one.

Practice courage: In your daily life, make an effort to step out of your comfort zone and face challenges with courage. Trust in God's presence and guidance as you do so.

Encourage others: Share this verse with friends, family, or anyone you know who may be going through a difficult or fearful time. Offer them the same encouragement and assurance that God has given you.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the timeless wisdom and encouragement found in Joshua 1:9. Your command to be strong and courageous reminds me that fear and discouragement need not define my journey. With your presence in my life, I can face any challenge with confidence. I also lift up to you those who are struggling with fear and discouragement. May they experience your presence and be filled with courage as they trust in you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
