DAY 33
John 8:34-36
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
THOUGHT
When I was younger, I had a friend who was always over at my house. I loved having her over for the first night, but the second and third nights became too much. She became a burden to my family and me because she would come in, make a mess, and not clean up after herself when she finally decided to go home.
Similarly, the enemy loves to do this to us, too. He comes into our lives, makes a mess of whatever he can get a hold of, and leaves us with a mess to clean up. The enemy loves to overstay his welcome in our lives. And when we fall short, the enemy finds that as the perfect time to make himself comfortable. The enemy will put ideas into our heads to convince us to allow him to stay in our lives and become immune to his will instead of following the plan the Lord has created for us. Don't allow the enemy to live in your house rent-free when Jesus has paid the cost for sin to live elsewhere. Jesus will set you free from the chains that the enemy has placed on you because you are not called to be a slave to sin, and when the Son sets you free, you are free indeed. Hand the eviction notice over to the enemy because he is no longer welcome.
ACTION
Be consistent in the Word- Staying consistent in reading the bible allows us to differentiate the Word and the world. The Word will tell us what is right and true. The Word also gives us confidence in the Lord and helps us understand his character so we can begin to reflect that character.
PRAYER
Jesus, I thank You for Your goodness and grace. I thank You for Your love that You have shown me. I pray that as I walk in each season of my life, I walk alongside You and the plan You have set for me. Jesus, have Your way in me. In Your precious name, I pray, amen.
